Taste
Rhubarb is a perennial plant that is dark red in colour when ripe and has a distinctive, tart flavour.

Origin
Originally cultivated in China more than 4000 years ago as a medicine, rhubarb was not used in desserts and cakes until the late 19th century.

Season
The rhubarb harvest period runs from May to July.

Good for
