Taste
The pomegranate consists of juicy, ruby-red seeds protected by a thick, leathery skin. The seeds are pungent but sweet to the taste.
Origin
Originally from what was then Persia, the pomegranate has also been cultivated in Asia and the Mediterranean for thousands of years.
Season
The pomegranate is particularly in season in autumn and winter but is imported into Denmark all year round.
Good for
The pomegranate can be eaten fresh but is also good in desserts and salads.
