Taste
Blueberry is a small, round, blue berry that has a fresh taste and a crisp, dewy skin.
Blueberries are particularly known for their high antioxidant content.
Origin
In Denmark we primarily eat two different varieties of blueberries - the American blueberries and the European blueberries. The difference between the two varieties is size and flesh colour.
European blueberries are smaller in size than American blueberries and have red flesh rather than the light flesh of American blueberries.
Season
Blueberries are in season in Denmark from July to September.
Good for
Blueberries taste great on ice, in cake and in smoothies. Also try blueberries in jams and fruit porridges.
