Taste
The pineapple has a characteristic green top and brownish skin.
Under the brownish skin, the fruit is yellow and has a sweet and sour taste.
Origin
Today, pineapples are mainly grown in tropical regions, but the fruit originally comes from South America.
Season
The pineapple can be bought virtually all year round, but is particularly in season from June to September.
Good for
The pineapple is perfect fresh in a fruit salad and also tastes great in freshly squeezed juice.
