Taste
The pear is a stone fruit that varies from round to oval in shape. Taste and texture depend on the variety, but the pear is often juicy and soft with an aromatic flavour.

Origin
Historically, the pear has been cultivated in Greece and Italy for several thousand years.

Season
In Denmark, the pear is in season from September to January, but it is imported all year round from abroad.

Good for
The pear can be enjoyed fresh but also makes a good addition to desserts and baked goods, and it can also be boiled.
