Lemons are oval citrus fruits with a yellow peel.
The fruit has a very sour taste - both in the flesh and the peel. The lemon's tangy flavour goes well with both sweet and savoury dishes.
Origin
The lemon tree originated in India and China, but we now import the fruit from southern Europe.
Season
In Denmark you can get lemon all year round.
Good for
Lemon has a distinctive, tangy flavour that lends itself well to both sweet and savoury cuisine. Use it in everything from flavoursome drinks to delicious cakes and desserts.
