Pomelo is the very largest citrus fruit. It is yellow or light green on the outside, while the flesh is firm and pale yellow to reddish in colour. The flavour is tangy, sweet and slightly bitter.
Origin
The pomelo fruit originally comes from South-East Asia, and it is only in recent years that it has appeared on the shelves in Denmark.
Season
Pomelos are imported into Denmark all year round.
Good for
Pomelo can be enjoyed fresh, where it is used in fruit salads or mixed in green salads.
