About the raw material

Taste
The apricot is a yellow/orange stone fruit, which is particularly known for its juicy and very sweet taste.
The fruit is a drupe and grows on the apricot tree.
The apricot is characterised by its beautiful colour and thin, soft skin.

Origin
Apricots were originally grown in Central Asia, but have since been successfully cultivated in southern Europe and elsewhere.
Apricots can be grown in Denmark, but they need light, warmth and shelter.

Season
The apricot is mainly in season from May to August.

Good for
We especially recommend you try apricots in jam and fruit porridge. See our Skælskør Frugtplantage®  Apricot Jam here. Alternatively, the fruit tastes great dried.
