There are a multitude of different melons. What they have in common is that they are related to pumpkins, cucumbers and squash.
Origin
Originally from India, melons have spread to Africa and the Middle East.
Season
Melons are in season at different times and are therefore imported into Denmark differently throughout the year.
Good for
Melons cannot be cooked due to their high water content, but they can be enjoyed fresh as well as in ice cream and salads.
