Cherry sauce from Skælskør Frugtplantage® has a fantastic taste of sun-ripened cherries, and is a true classic for Christmas ris à la mande. It can also be used in a delicious trifle with Greek yoghurt and nut crunch or as a topping on a cheesecake. The cherry sauce is a mix of several cherry varieties and contains a total of 40% cherries. The sauce is sold in a 500 g pack and can be kept for 3 weeks in the refrigerator after opening.

40% whole pitted cherries (EU and non-EU), water, sugar, modified corn starch, concentrated lemon juice, natural almond oil, preservative: potassium sorbate. May contain fruit stones or parts thereof.

Cherry
Taste
The cherry is a spherical stone fruit, the flavour and colour of which depend on the variety. The colour can vary from yellow to pink, dark red and almost completely black, while the taste ranges from the sour to the completely sweet.
Origin
In China, cherries have been cultivated for more than 3000 years and were also known by the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. In the 18th century it was reintroduced in England, from where it has spread to the rest of the world.
Season
The cherry tree blossoms around May and is harvested from June to September, when we in Denmark also import them from abroad.
Good for
