With its fresh and slightly tart taste, lingonberry jam from Skælskør Frugtplantage® is ideal for both sweet and savory dishes. Lingonberries contain a lot of acid, which is why they are too tart to eat raw. On the other hand, the berries are incredibly good as pickled berries. When pickling the berries, sugar is added, among other things. When the mixture is heated, the berries burst, giving us a delicious jam.

The lingonberry is a small, red berry that contains a lot of acid. Therefore, lingonberries are almost too tart to eat fresh.
Origin
Lingonberries is originally a wild plant that grows in the northern hemisphere.
Season
In Denmark, lingonberries are in season from August to October, while they are imported from abroad from July to October.
Good for
Lingonberries are suitable for compote as well as for raw jam and lingonberry jam, for example.
